About

I am a pianist, piano and theory instructor and adjudicator.  I have worked with a wide variety of students, ranging in age from 4-64, from beginners to advanced, who represent a large variety of abilities and interests.
My primary concern is to foster a love and appreciation of all kinds of music in my students and I believe that music education is a key component in a child's well-rounded education.  I love what I do and it makes me happy to be able to share my passion with others.

Lessons are designed to meet the specific needs and goals of each student. This includes a balance of theory, sight-reading, ear training and repertoire appropriate to the student's level of proficiency.  I understand that each child is unique and try to make the lesson suit their learning style, therefore I mix traditional teaching methods with exposure to a variety of genres and styles including classical, pop, and jazz.  I also incorporate a mixture of games and musical activities to help reinforce music theory.  Many of my students have gone onto complete RCM exams with excellent results in both piano and theory.
Lessons run from September through June, with optional summer lessons, and follow the WRDSB for all holidays. Weekly private lessons are offered in 30, 45, or 60-minute sessions, depending on the student’s age and skill level.  Lessons are offered both online and in person at the studio.
Students will be encouraged to perform during our 2 studio recitals held in December and May.  There is also the opportunity to perform at the KW Kiwanis Music Festival in April and complete exams at all levels through the Royal Conservatory of Music

Please note:  In the School Administration Act, Section 6, Subsection 2:
"A child is excused from attendance at school if he/she is absent from school for the purpose of receiving instruction in music and the period of absence does not exceed one-half day in any week."
