Our spring recital this year will be done through YouTube. Here are the details:
1. Students will be choosing their songs over the next week
2. Students will practice and prepare their songs for a performance through the month of May
3. Recordings will be done the last week of May with all recordings being due by May 30. (Please don’t record your song until we have agreed you are prepared for the performance).
4. I will compile all the recordings into a recital and will post it on YouTube using YouTube Premiere (and will email each of you the url - feel free to share it with friends and family!)
YouTube Premiere has some great features that will enable us to still feel like we are together (as much as we can be during this time). I set up a specific date and time for the recital to go live. This means that we can all watch the recital at the same time, just as it would be in person. There is also a chat feature, so students can receive real time feedback on how they played - which is great since they won’t have any audience clapping. Another feature which will be really helpful is as soon as I upload the video you can set a reminder where you will be notified when the recital is about to go live so you won’t forget! Plus there will be a 2 minute countdown before it starts giving each of you the chance to sit down and get comfy first! The link will still be available after the premiere so you can send it to other friends and family or watch it again on your own time!
5. Our recital premiere will be scheduled for Sunday May 31 at 2:30pm
6. Be sure to share the date and time with family and friends and let them know to be on the lookout for the url link
7. Sit back, relax and enjoy the show
