Now that we are back to our regular routine, its' time to be back to our regular practicing. Plus what better time to set up routines than the start of a new year.
Use these tips to help get you start off on the right foot:
1. Find a time that works best for you and schedule it into your day. Some examples include right before or after school, before or after dinner. Or use an actual time: 4:00, 5:30 etc.
2. Use a chart to help keep you on track, like this one: For my own kids I have them practice as soon as they get home, then they choose a sticker to add to the chart. I find they are very motivated by the stickers but you can also use check marks, a happy face or colour in the box.
3. Refer to the notebook. Every lesson I will write in exactly what should be practiced, but I will also add specific tips that your child can use for their specific song(s). Each song and child is unique so not everyone should practice in the same way
