As lessons get started today I want to officially welcome every family,
new and returning, to the studio. A few
“housekeeping” items to go over with each of you:
Email or text is the preferred
method of communication. If you need to
cancel a lesson at the last minute, please text of call and leave a message on
my voicemail. I let voicemail take calls
during lessons but check them often.
Please contact me personally as I often don’t receive a message from the
school until the next day.
Studio Website shannonrutherfordmusic.blogspot.ca
I
will be using the website to keep everyone up to date and informed of all the
events happening in and around the studio and the Beckett School. It will also include helpful tips and links
related to all things piano and music. I
will be updating it regularly so please check often.

Makeup lessons

unless the lesson is cancelled by the teacher or the school is closed due to
bad weather. You will be contacted in
the event of a school closure.
Kiwanis Music Festival
The festival is a piano
competition for all of Kitchener Waterloo music students. It is open to any student, any age and any
level. Another opportunity to not only
to perform and receive feedback from a professional adjudicator. Registration
runs Dec. 1-Jan 22 with the festival taking place the around the beginning of
May. Memorization is required.
Beckettfest
A non-competitive music
festival open to any student and any level who currently take lessons at The
Beckett School. Students will perform
and receive feedback from a professional adjudicator
Studio Recitals
There will be two studio
recitals, one around Christmas time and one around beginning of June. Dates will be announced at least a month in
advance.
To all students who completed
exams, participated in Beckettfest and the Kiwanis Music Festival, the studio
recitals, practice challenges, completed books and achieved any goals we set at
the beginning of the year. Each of you
deserves recognition and a big thank you for making last year such a great one!
I look forward to seeing what
everyone accomplishes this year!
