When it comes to practicing try to set goals for yourself. This will sometimes help you to have a more focused practice which leads to more success.
There are two ways this type of practice will work:
Set Daily Goals:
These need to be small and simple. Something you can obtain during your daily practice session. Some good examples are adding dynamics, adding the counting, working on the A section, being able to play the tricky part better etc.
Set Weekly Goals:
These can be a bit bigger than your daily goals but still simple enough that you can complete them during your week of practice.
Examples: Getting (or even starting) your piece hands together (HT), finishing (or learning better) the left hand (LH) or right hand (RH), working on the memory. Sometimes adding dynamics fits better into this category depending on how tricky your song is.
Remember practice is not just playing the notes of your song from the beginning to the end. Make sure you are always working on adding all the details into your song.
