Summer!

Summer is officially upon us!  I won't be blogging as often but I will be posting sometimes throughout the summer with various tips and some ideas to help with practicing.
I am realistic in knowing that practicing doesn't happen as often during the summer.  All I ask is that you try to do some.

Here is one way to help with that.  These are 21 ways to practice your pieces.  Simply cut them out and put them in a hat, then choose a couple each time you practice.

21 Practice Ideas:

 RH one octave higher

 LH one octave lower

Like a funeral march

Standing up

While bopping your head to the beat

With your right hand behind your back

With your tongue out

While humming the RH melody

With your left eye closed

Start from the middle, play to the end, then start from the beginning and play to the middle.

While twitching your nose like a rabbit

While blinking along with the beat

With a teacher/student chuckle after every phrase

While chewing imaginary gum

As proper as the Queen of England

With the worst posture you can imagine

With your left ear touching your left shoulder

Giving a quick “double-thumbs up” every time you play a G

With a clap after every 8 beats

While stomping your right foot with the first beat of every measure

While fidgeting on the bench like you have ants in your pants

With the largest most ridiculous smile you can hold on your face
